Scholarships administered by The Wig Bank of Caldwell County are open to all applicants who are United States citizens, have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, and who seek a degree of higher education. All applicants must meet requirements for admissions to an institute of higher learning. Consideration is given to those students who have shown academic promise and leadership qualities. The Wig Bank of Caldwell County administers scholarships to deserving local students who submit applications. Scholarships are sponsored by families who wish to honor a loved one's life or memory and ensure that the legacy of that person is extended to another generation. Individuals donate scholarship money to The Wig Bank of Caldwell County and sponsors are allowed to select recipients from the submitted applications. Scholarship recipients are notified prior to the annual Legacy event and are required to attend both a meeting of recipients and their parents/guardians at The Wig Bank home and the Legacy event. Certificates are presented at Legacy and recipients must send their student identification and financial aid office information to The Wig Bank Treasurer prior to the start of the following school term. Scholarship funds are only sent to the recipients' schools and are never paid directly to students.
