On Site Salon

The Wig Bank of Caldwell County provides wigs, scarves, hats, and turbans for women and children who may lose their hair through cancer treatments. Each wig is specially selected and styled by one of our licensed stylists.

Be-You-Tiful Class

This program brings women together and helps them put their best foot forward with tips on applying makeup and other beauty techniques. A free bag of makeup is supplied to each participant. This class is led by our stylists on the fourth Monday of each month at 11:00 at the Wig Bank.

Children With Hair Loss

The Wig Bank partners with this national organization to help make wigs for cancer patients. Please follow these instructions for hair donations. An individual may donate their hair (must be at least 8 inches). The locks should be clean, dry, bound together (in a braid or ponytail), bagged, and delivered to the Wig Bank with your name, address, and phone number taped to the outside of the bag. The Wig Bank is happy to send it off for you. If you would prefer to send it yourself, you can drop by to get a form with more instructions or download the form here.

McCreary Cancer Center

The Wig Bank of Caldwell County is proud to partner with the McCreary Cancer Center to offer a wide range of programs for individuals and their families who are touched by cancer. McCreary Cancer Center offers several support groups and exercise groups including Restorative Yoga, Walkers' Club, and Pickleball Club. Please see the Wig Bank or MCC for more specific information on these opportunities.

Cancer Conversations

This is a monthly support group sponsored by the McCreary Cancer Center and hosted at the Wig Bank. They typically meet the last Friday of every month at 12 noon (bring your lunch if you would like!) for an educational webinar covering a wide range of topics like cancer resources, staying healthy after treatment ends, etc.

Arm in Arm

McCreary Cancer Center offers this breast cancer support group that meets the third Monday of each month at 6 pm at the Wig Bank. Those currently in treatment and those who have completed their treatments share their experience and knowledge. It is open to all cancer survivors, family, and friends also. This has continued to be one of our most popular support groups.

Freshstart

Freshstart is the American Cancer Society's group-based tobacco cessation counseling program designed to help participants stop smoking by providing group support, coping skills, and essential information. These free classes will be offered monthly by the McCreary Cancer Center and held at the Wig Bank. Please contact us for more information.
